The images of iOS 19 concepts shared by insider John Prosser do not reflect the real design of the future OS. This was stated by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg.
According to Gurman, these images are «walking around the web» but they are based on «very old versions» or «vague descriptions» and do not contain key changes. He also added that users can «expect more from Apple in June».
Gurman reiterated the same statement on his Power On Discord channel:
«He either has very old screenshots or hasn’t seen the real iOS 19».
Prosser presented concepts that he said were based on the «real version» of iOS 19 that he had seen. However, the design changes shown in the images are minor. For example, the layout of the Messages app only slightly changed the navigation buttons and made the keyboard more rounded. The lock screen doesn’t see many updates either, except for changes in transparency.
Prosser said that apps, menus, settings, and other elements will get a more rounded look with a «glass» style inspired by the visionOS interface. This is in line with what Gurman and other sources have previously reported.
In his video, Prosser downplayed the significance of the changes, saying that aside from minor cosmetic updates, there are no signs of major innovations. However, Gurman previously claimed that iOS 19 «will fundamentally change» the appearance of the system and will be the biggest iOS redesign since iOS 7.
Although Gurman did not provide detailed information, he noted that Apple will update the style of icons, menus, apps, windows, and system buttons. The updated interface will be «loosely based» on the Vision Pro design.
