S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl promises new views of the Zone and unexpected plot twists in the DLC.
GSC Game World continues to work not only on fixing problems with the release version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2is engaged in the development of storyline add-ons. The developers said that the main focus is on expanding the game world and events from new perspectives.
«To keep this from sounding too vague — though it’s absolutely sincere — we want to reassure everyone that with the story expansions, we’re really eager to surprise players and show this world from fresh perspectives. We can’t wait to share more, but everything in its own time», — GSC said.
The developers hint that players will find previously unknown parts of the Zone. Moreover, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will be improved not only cosmetically or with the survival mode — GSC confirmed that DLC will offer new campaigns with their own goals and characters.
At the same time, the studio is fixing bugs, improving A-Life AI, and game mechanics. GSC Game World also continues to release updates, namely extensions and patches. Given that players experienced «hellfire at the start»and DSOGaming called S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is one of the worst in terms of technical condition, it won’t hurt. The game will also be updated with new content, and possibly even additional mechanics that will make Heart of Chornobyl even deeper and more variable.
«Players will be the best judges of that. As for us, we’ll keep working hard to make sure they’re not disappointed», — the developers explained.
The developers hinted that what we will play now in a few years may be very different from the current version of the game. GSC Game World does not disclose details, but the studio assures that players will find surprises. Perhaps DLC «revives» online because it dropped by 90% on Steam.
So far, the release date of the add-ons is unknown, but given the constant improvement of the game, we shouldn’t expect them in the near future. GSC promises more details later. So far, we know that the game is not planned to be ported to PlayStation 5. At the same time, DSOGaming reviewers included S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl in the TOP 10 games of 2024 with the best graphics.
