Garmin has expanded its line of affordable sports watches Vivoactive 6 modelwhich, among other things, has advanced modes for running, walking, and cycling, as well as a smart alarm option.
The term «smart alarm» is used by other manufacturers to describe a feature that monitors the sleep cycle of the device owner and tries to wake them up when they feel more alert. In the case of the Garmin Vivoactive 6, the smart alarm will start waking you up 30 minutes before the specified time with a gentle vibration.
Another new feature — advanced modes for runners and cyclists, which will offer data on running dynamics, including stride length, frequency of ground contact, or pedaling. However, the Vivoactive 6 is still far from the advanced Forerunner 165, in particular because it cannot send routes to the watch for navigation and does not support downloaded maps, despite the 8 GB of storage. Instead, all this space is offered for storing music that can be played in wireless headphones, leaving your phone at home while jogging.

Among other things, Vivoactive 6 received «step-by-step» workouts with visual instructions for yoga, Pilates, weightlifting, or strength training, as well as a Garmin heart rate sensor, albeit the latest generation (this excludes the possibility of the watch receiving an ECG function from the brand).
The new model weighs only 36 g with the strap and has a case size of 42.2 mm; it has a 1.2-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 390 x 390 pixels and Gorilla Glass protection, an aluminum frame, and the classic «polymer» Garmin case. The device’s battery is designed for 11 days of operation without recharging or 5 days in «always on» screen mode.
Vivoactive 6 is available in four colors: Slate, Lunar Gold, Metallic Jasper Green and Metallic Pink Dawn. The watch will be available for pre-order starting April 4 at a price of $300.
