A well-known insider has published a comparative photo of the thickness of the Apple iPhone 17 Air with the iPhone 17 Pro Max. However, it is difficult to see the smartphones in detail.
If Majin Bu’s leak is correct, the iPhone 17 Air will be almost half the size of the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Recently a lot of images appeared models and sketches that give an idea of the next generation of iPhone. In fact, most questions arise about the thickness of the thinnest iPhone 17. Apple is expected to unveil it in the fall of 2025.
The published photo shows the lower edges of two white iPhone-like devices. Judging by the all-white color, these are probably 3D-printed models. Rumors about the thickness of the iPhone 17 Air (or iPhone 17 Slim) vary depending on the source. The latter talk about 9.5 mm at the thickest point — on the camera protrusion. The protrusion itself is allegedly 4 mm, so the thickness of the case is — 5.5 mm.
Previously reported thickness of 6 mm and significant difficulties with its reduction due to battery placement. For comparison, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is the thickest model of the current generation with 8.25 mm, Apple does not include the camera protrusion when indicating the thickness.
Main competitor to Apple iPhone 17 Air, Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, according to preliminary reports, will have a thickness of «about 6 mm». Depending on the exact numbers, it may be thinner or thicker.
