Today, hundreds of Tesla dealerships around the world were visited by protesters as part of the global Tesla Takedown campaign. People protested against the actions of Elon Musk and Donald Trump.
Numerous reports, photos, and videos of the protests are coming from different cities in the United States. Despite the presence of «protests against» protests in some places, the demonstrations were mostly free of violence or arrests.
At least 150 people came to a protest on the outskirts of Chicago, more than 300 people showed up outside of Syracuse, New York, and more than 600 in the suburbs of Baltimore. Similar numbers of protesters were recorded in St. Louis, Buffalo, Salt Lake City and other cities. Social media shows large demonstrations in Seattle and Ann Arbor, Michigan. Counter-protests were spotted in Meridian, Idaho and Paramus, New Jersey. The actions in support of Musk were much smaller than the Tesla Takedown protests.
Most of the protests took place in the United States, but there were also international events. NBC News reports that protesters came to Tesla dealerships in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Berlin. A large demonstration was held in London.
The organizers of Tesla Takedown held protests near the company’s facilities to damage Elon Musk’s profits. In the United States the main factor in Musk’s outrage є activities of the government department DOGE, including the reduction of social projects, science funding etc. Some of his actions and statements, which the protesters consider Nazi, were not ignored.
