December former Intel CEO Pat Helsinger’s call to pray for the company, it seems, was not an empty statement. He became the executive director of Gloo, a church-oriented platform.
The former CEO of Intel and VMWare announced Monday that his role at faith-based tech company Gloo has increased. He will become chief executive officer as well as head of the technology department responsible for product development. After nearly 10 years as a Gloo board member and investor, Gelsinger will lead the creation of a vertical cloud platform for the religious ecosystem.
Among the projects that Pat Helsinger will lead at Gloo is the creation of one of the first vertical industry clouds for religion and AI. Earlier this year, Pat Helsinger praised DeepSeek and announced that Gloo will use it instead of OpenAI models for its own AI chatbot Kallm via open source and ease of integration. Despite the controversy surrounding data processing methods DeepSeek, accused of use of ChatGPT data and the use of smuggled NVIDIA GPUs to train its models, Gelsinger noted availability and potential DeepSeek technologies.
Gloo is a technology company that creates tools and platforms to support churches and religious organizations. Its main goal is to help these groups better connect with people, develop their communities, and use new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, in a way that is consistent with their values.
Currently, Gloo offers a digital workspace for organizing content, communication, and outreach efforts, as well as AI-powered tools that allow churches to better engage with their members and reach new people. Gloo also works to connect religious organizations and distribute Christian media content to churches and individuals.
