Reddit user assembled the system about three weeks ago with «completely new components». The PC was running Radeon RX 9070 XT video card. There were no problems with the computer, and the owner immediately updated the BIOS to prevent them. The only thing that worried him was the high temperature of the processor in standby mode, «about 50-58[°C], but sometimes it dropped to 45».
Over the next two weeks, the owner used the computer very little or played games such as the first Kingdom Come and Valorant. Sometimes, after pressing Alt+Tab, the screen would frieze to «. Like most previous 9xx0X3D processor failures, this one happened on an ASRock motherboard (X870 Pro RS). The «chip died during a several-hour gaming session. The system shut down and showed no signs of «life». The owner found a Ryzen 9 9950X3D bulge on the processor, which clearly indicates hardware damage. The motherboard pins were not bent or damaged, but discolored due to high voltage and temperature.

Earlier, ASRock assured that the chips and motherboards did not fail, and the reason was memory incompatibility, which is eliminated by updating the BIOS.
